Hi, I am Sierra Dexter.
I am a dramatic and candid photographer assisting in memory making and telling the stories of local families and couples. I also create portrait and landscape photographs that portray emotion and beauty utilizing minimal light sources surrounded by local Mississippi landscapes, nature, and historic buildings.
Mississippi has influenced the overall tone of my work - as the realistic condition of landscapes and buildings is often highlighted in my work. I believe the way I use light is connected to the way Mississippi summer nights are highlighted by golden tones of the setting sun and shadows are created by trees and tall overgrown grasses.
